Severe winter weather

Derbyshire County Council is responsible for winter maintenance and gritting of public roads and footpaths throughout Derbyshire and High Peak.

The Government's 'Get Ready for Winter' campaign provides links to specific information and advice from government departments and charities to help you as the weather turns colder.  

The Cabinet Office has also launched a 'Winter Weather' page bringing together material and news in one place.

The Derbyshire Prepared website will provide further information when severe snow and ice hits Derbyshire and the High Peak and Age UK has some great advice on keeping warm and healthy through the winter months.

School Closures

Information on any schools closing can be found on the Derbyshire County Council website. Schools are not obliged to send updates to this service so please call your child's school if they don't appear on the list but you have concerns.
