Deputy Mayor of High Peak

Councillor Dom Elliott-Starkey was elected Deputy Mayor of the Borough Council in May for 2024/25.

Dom lives in Glossop with his husband and two step-children who attend St. Andrew's Junior School & Glossopdale School & Sixth Form. Dom and Ryan married in 2022, Ryan has lived in Glossop all his life. 

Dom thoroughly enjoys representing Dinting Ward and standing up to make our area even better. As part of his passion for supporting our local community, Dom is a governor at Dinting C of E Primary School and a member of Friends of Howard park.

Dom is a former teaching assistant who supported students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Following this Dom travelled to Kenya to teach first aid before returning to attend university. In recent years, Dom has developed a program which supports student's with SEND and the team around them.  

Dom is incredibly honoured and proud to be taking this position representing this beautiful place and will work hard for our community.
