Mobility scooter users living in sheltered accommodation at four properties in the High Peak will find it easier to park and store their scooters thanks to investment by the Borough Council.
High Peak Borough Council has built scooter stores at its properties at Milton Court, Queens Court and Northlands in Buxton and at Cromford Court in Whaley Bridge.
Councillor Julie McCabe visited Milton Court to meet resident Dennis Reay and view the new facilities.
She said: "I'm delighted that we've invested in these scooter stores at several of our sheltered housing properties. They make it so much easier for our residents who use mobility scooters as they now have the peace of mind that comes with secure storage whilst having their scooters on hand whenever they need them.
"It was lovely to meet Dennis and to chat to him and I know that the facilities both here at Milton Court and at the other locations where they've been installed will be welcomed and well-used!"
The Milton Court store can accommodate four scooters and is fitted with electric charging points and lighting. There are no internal walls making it easier for users to get their scooters in and out and a new access door and ramp into the main building have also been provided.
