Your first priority is to speak to your insurance company making sure you have your policy number and cover note to hand.
- Make a list of any loss or potential loss - stock, assets or documents.
- Take photographic evidence (smart phones can be used to take pictures)
- Keep any receipts and invoices
- Environmental Health can issue loss statements or a letter of comfort to insurance companies in relation to perishable food or frozen produce.
- Gather historical evidence from accounts information of stock, turnover and wages
