We aim to share information about opportunities in sport for disabled people, raise the profile of disability sport and influence mainstream organisations to include this level of information.
Buxton Community School is now an accredited IFI site. The fitness suite is an accessible facility for disabled and non-disabled people to workout together. The site has purchased accredited equipment, eg. Hand bikes with swing away seats, equipment with easy to use programmes, brightly coloured contrasting handles. Staff have also received specialised training to support disabled people in the gym. The facility has accessible parking, changing facilities/toilets, information in alternative formats etc.

Saturday: 9am-5pm
Sunday: 9am-8pm

High Peak Borough Council in partnership with The High Peak Disability Sports Group and St Philip Howard Sports College have been trialling a club information pack which offers practical advice and support on how to include disabled people in their activities.
The aim of the club information pack is to support local clubs and organisations to widen their access and increase/improve participation levels and high quality activities for children and adults with disabilities and additional needs across the borough. If your club or organisation is interested in being involved in the development of the pack and would like to ensure your club is inclusive then please contact Chris Nightingale - chris.nightingale@highpeak.gov.uk, for more information if your club is in the Glossop area please contact Emma Champion - emmac112@st-philiphoward.derbyshire.sch.uk. A copy of the club information pack will be available on this section of our website once the pilot project trialling the use of the pack is completed.
