High Peak Borough Council has worked with Derbyshire County Council and other Derbyshire authorities, to consult residents and disabled groups about service delivery, to prepare for the new Disability Equality Duty, that came into force on Monday 4 December 2006.
We have included our disability equality objectives within our Corporate Equality and Diversity Scheme (1.5MB)
, together with our Disability Equality Action Plan.

The Scheme and Action Plan sets out how we will ensure that our services are accessible to all disabled people, and how we will seek to encourage disabled people to be involved in public life.
The scheme meets the requirements of the Disability Equality Duty. The Action Plan will be reviewed by the Joint Equalities Working Group on a regular basis, and will be expanded in response to identified needs.
