In 2009-2011, the partnership is aiming to enhance the information for visitors and continue improve the appearance of the old town. In 2009 new directional finger posts were introduced and in 2010 new entrance signs with interchangeable events panels to encourage people into the town centre have been installed.
Other actions include the continued support of the May Day event, and brightening of the town centre with hanging baskets and barrier baskets on the market place.
New summer flowering baskets on the railings around the Market Place have been installed; new tourist information panels are now located at car parks, and at Chapel-en-le-Frith Town Hall there is a range of tourist information leaflets. A mini guide to the shops and services in Chapel-en-le-Frith was produced and an updated free Old Town Trail is also available (available from town hall, Tourist information and other local outlets).
The Regeneration Partnership continues to support physical improvements to the town centre, including introducing 18 new street name plates; relaying setts and new curb stones to Terrace Road and Church Brow at the heart of the conservation area.
The Chapel-en-le-Frith Regeneration Partnership was set up in 1996 to help conserve the historic town centre and regenerate the town as "a thriving, prosperous, safe and attractive market town with jobs, homes and facilities for all".
The partnership’s work has included funding physical enhancements - often supported by Conservation grants - as well as initiatives to support the town’s residents and retailers.
