People across the High Peak who are worried about crime and anti-social behaviour will have the chance to air their concerns at an event and walkabout in Chapel-en-le-Frith promoting the area as a safe place to live, work and visit.
High Peak Borough Council and Derbyshire Police have joined forces to encourage residents to share their views on safety issues affecting their community and pick up useful tips on crime prevention.
The Community Safety Team will showcase the work they do on a display stand outside Chapel-en-le-Frith Town Hall on Thursday September 4, between 10am and 1pm.
A community walkabout in Chapel-en-le-Frith town centre on Friday September 5 from 2pm to 4pm is also planned.
"Our aim will be to give people the opportunity to express their views on community safety and consider how their concerns could best be tackled," said Andrew Bingham, Executive Councillor for Community and Social Development, who will be on hand at the display stands and will join the walkabouts at each venue.
"They can visit our special stands to talk to us about the issues affecting their communities, and to pick up useful information about combating crime and anti-social behaviour. They are also welcome to join us on the walkabouts to take the opportunity to express their views and discuss possible ways forward."
The Mayor of High Peak will also be attending the event and walkabout and will be available for questions and discussions.
