Admission is free -- just bring your own picnic and teddy bear. The fun will take place between 1pm and 4pm at the Wheatsheaf Road entrance to the Memorial Park.

Throughout the afternoon, there will be a nature trail quiz, river dipping, circus skills, face painting, badge making and an opportunity to make a mini raft and race it down the river. The Friends group will be selling cakes and cold drinks.

The highlight of the afternoon will be the Best Dressed Teddy Competition, which will be judged at 2.30pm. This will be followed by teddy bear games at 3pm.

Helen Roberts, Chairperson of the Friends of the Memorial Park, said: "This is our third annual Teddy Bear's Picnic in the park and we are hoping to build on the success of the last two years, with more activities, including Los Diablos circus skills, Oops a Daisy face painting and a mini raft race."

Andrew Bingham, Executive Councillor for Social and Community Development, said: "The Friends do a terrific job organizing events at the Memorial Park. Why not take Ted along and have some fun?"

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
