Information for Employers making redundancies or with recruitment needs

The National Careers Service and local High Peak Jobcentres are keen to support local businesses during this time, especially around redundancies and recruitment:

If you have already made employees redundant or are about to make small numbers redundant (up to five), please refer those individuals for direct support to:NationalCareersServiceNCC@futuresforyou.com Phone: 0800 917 94 19 or contact local adviser sarah.kelly@derbyshire.gov.uk Mobile: 07967 391263

Buxton Jobcentre and Glossop Jobcentre managers can guide the employer through the process and the set up virtual meetings with employees to provide information on claiming and eligibility for benefits, which is extremely useful as the majority of employees may have never been in this situation before. Contact:

  • Glossop Jobcentre Tel: 01457 726785

Please note that questions about benefit claim/payments cannot be answered on this number and should be directed to 0800 055 6688 (textphone 0345 608 8551).

If you are planning to make larger-scale redundancies across a number of sites, additional support is also available for you as an employer and your employees.  Please use the same contact details as above but ensure your contact includes
• Notification of redundancies and scale
• Number and job roles affected
• Last day of work for affected individuals (if known)

If you are seeking to fill urgent vacancies (including volunteering) to meet changes to your business as a result of Covid 19, Please register your vacancies with:John.Blankley@futuresforyou.com Phone: 0115 876 4947 / 07570 671592 and also contact the local jobcentre who can assist in a range of ways including sourcing and sifting potential candidates.

Commercial property support for businesses

The Emergency Coronavirus Bill passing through parliament means no business will be forced out of their premises if they miss a payment within the next three months ( until  30th June 2020).  However,  rent and service charge will still lawfully be due and interest will be accrued on any late or missed payments under the normal terms of the lease unless your landlord agrees to a variation.  We would actively encouraging all tenants to engage with their landlords during this difficult period to explore all options available to them as well as accessing any grants which maybe available to help cover this cost.
