Housing Officer (Temporary Accommodation)
1 x 30 Hours - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
£30,296- £33,024 per annumpro rata
plus essential car user allowance

The Homelessness Reduction Act places strong duties upon local authorities to prevent and relieve homelessness.
We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic individual to help deliver this key area of the Council's services and make a real difference to our customers.
These are challenging times for homeless services which has lead to us increasing the size of our team. The successful candidates will have relevant experience and a practical outcome focused approach. An understanding of the allocations process is also essential. Our mission is to prevent and solve homelessness, social exclusion and housing related poverty by providing practical, tailored support so that each person can find and maintain a home and achieve their potential.
Your main duties will include:-
• To co-ordinate the provision of appropriate temporary accommodation ensuring the Council's temporary accommodation is of a high standard and available for placement of homeless households.
• Supporting those in temporary accommodation to move on into permanent housing
• Telephone and face to face housing advice - Deliver complex and bespoke telephone advice to customers, often customers in crisis and in need of support or intervention.
