What goes in your bins

In households where there are confirmed or suspected cases of  COVID-19 only personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths need to be double bagged. The first tied bag should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste for at least 72 hours (3 days) before being put in the outside bin for collection.  All other household waste and recycling can be disposed of as normal.

This is to minimise the risk of any infected waste coming into contact with our collection crew or being exposed to the atmosphere during the collection process.

We will only empty bins and red textile bags provided by us. If your house is assessed as not suitable for wheeled bins we will provide you with alternative containers to use.
