Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs)

People who are caught not cleaning up after their dog or littering (including flyposting and graffitiing) can be issued with a fine, also known as a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN).

The charge for a litter fine (including fly-posting and graffiti) is £75, but if paid within 10 days, the fine is reduced to £50.

The charge for a dog fouling fine is £80, reduced to £60 if paid within 10 days.

We will send reminders for non-payment of FPNs and will take legal action if they remain unpaid. We do not accept appeals against these types of fines.

Can fines by issued to children?

Yes, anyone 11 years old and above can be fined. Enforcement officers are also permitted to take photographs of alleged offenders to use as evidence in court if a fine is not paid.

How to pay

The quickest way to pay is online, or you can pay by cheque or debit card at one of our receptions. You will need your FPN number.

Fixed penalty notices are different to parking fines - pay parking fines here.
