Plan the future of your family business at free workshop
Whether you're keeping it in the family or selling to new owners handing on a family business can be a very stressful time - but if that time has come then a free event this month will help you through the process.
High Peak Borough Council, in partnership with the D2N2 Growth Hub, is offering business people faced with this challenge the chance to attend a free workshop to find out how to make it as stress free as possible.
The Lunch and Learn: Succession planning for family businesses and SMEs event is taking place on Tuesday 10 October at the Pavilion Arts Centre in Buxton.
Delegates will be taken through the steps of succession planning and will consider business goals - both commercial and personal - alongside timing, future ownership, management shares and capital, the actual sale of the business and any tax efficiencies.
Councillor Tony Kemp, Executive Councillor for Regeneration, said: "Deciding the future of a family business is a once-in-a-lifetime decision which will understandably present many challenges for business owners.
"This free workshop offers practical advice on how to manage this process from an emotional, legal and technical perspective and will help businesses to successfully plan for the future."
The workshop starts with a networking lunch between noon and 1pm and will finish at 4.30pm. Register now
