In the swing at Bridgemont
Bridgemont youngsters and their families now have an improved play area to enjoy thanks to investment from High Peak Borough Council.
The old, rusting swings have been replaced by new, modern ones; new rubber safety surfacing has been laid in place of the tarmac that was there previously; and the existing play equipment at the site has been brightened up with a lick of paint.
The work has been funded by High Peak Borough Council and the three Whaley Bridge ward councilors who donated their Councillor Initiative Fund allocations to the project.
Councillors joined children from the neighbouring Bridgemont Nursery at the site to take a look at the improvements.
Emily Thrane, Executive Councillor for Operational Services at the Council, said: "It was great to see the children from the nursery enjoying the new swings and refurbished play area.
"I'm delighted that the Council, Andrew Fox, David Lomax and John Pritchard have been able to fund these improvements in Bridgemont and that young people and families can now enjoy play and leisure time on more modern equipment and safer surfaces."
