Christmas bin collection dates - check online now
Published on 14 December 2020
Christmas is a busy enough time in any year and especially so this year with the Covid restrictions to factor in - so remembering any changes to your bin collections is probably not high on your list!
Fortunately High Peak Borough Council's online bin checker means you don't need to - you can just enter your postcode or street name and get information about collections for your address including details about collections over the festive period.
Collections of black and brown bins which would normally fall on Christmas Day, Monday 28 December and New Year's Day have been re-arranged while green-lidded bin collections will be suspended until the New Year.
Although the green-lidded bin will not be collected over Christmas, residents are advised to continue putting all cooked and uncooked food waste (including vegetable peelings and bones) in their bins in preparation for the rounds to begin again.
Councillor Jean Todd, Executive Councillor for Climate Change and the Environment, said: "Christmas is always a busy time and, this year in particular, we all have so much to think about and plan for so we've made checking your collections and any Christmas changes simple.
"Our website also has information about what goes in your bins just in case anyone needs a reminder so waste and recycling is one less thing to worry about this Christmas."
Bins must be presented by 6am on collection day.
There will be no green-lidded bin collections from Monday 21 December to Friday 1 January. Collections will resume from Monday 4 January.
