Hartington Upper Quarter Parish Council - serving the residents of Hartington Upper Quarter

Position available for clerk and responsible financial officer.

Hartington Upper Quarter is situated within the High Peak area of Derbyshire.

The parish council looks after the community buildings , planning , reports on highways and bettering the area for the community as well as organizing remembrance and celebratory events for the community.

The parish council also runs a campsite and hires the parish hall out to the community, Duke of Edinburgh and other outdoor pursuiters.

Boarding the Staffordshire  Moorlands and being situated within the Peak District , the area attracts thousands of National and international visitors each year.

The clerk and responsible financial officer position requires 25 hours per month of work from home , as well as travelling to once monthly meetings and  additional meetings , when necessary.

As the clerk and RFO , you are expected to correspond with the councillors and people outside of the parish council , manage finances , advise the councillors , deal with general administrative work , take responsibility of the campsite and hall hire bookings , assist with event planning , handle accounts and monitor any budgets set , prepare and file documents for auditing and VAT.

The ideal candidate will also have prior experience in accounting , writing invoices , minute taking , writing invoices and basic knowledge of IT.

Salary: £12.50 per hour
