Bulky and Electrical collections

This is a chargeable service to collect and dispose of large household bulky and electrical items (WEEE) from domestic households only. We do not offer this service for businesses

How to book a collection

You can book and pay for the collection of non-electrical and electrical items at the same time, but the collections will be on different days.

  • Bulky item (non-electrical) collections take place every Thursday, book by midnight Sunday
  • Electrical item collections take place every other Friday, book by midnight Monday

The collection date available to book will depend on the capacity of the vehicle. As a result, when booking a collection you will be allocated the next available collection date. Please bear in mind this may not be the following Thursday during busy periods and may be a few weeks in advance.

Items need to be presented at your bin collection point from 6am. We will contact you if there are any problems with collection.

We will not take any items that are not listed on the booking, we do not undertake house clearances and we will not enter your house or garage to collect items.

If items are booked for collection and found not to be suitable refunds will not be permitted, please ensure all items are as described in the list provided.

How much does a bulky item (non-electrical) collection cost?

We charge £20.50 for the collection and disposal of up to 4 items, extra items cost £4.60 each. You can use this form to book a collection of up to 9 items in total.

If you get council tax or housing benefit, the costs are reduced to £10.25 for up to 4 items and £2.30 per additional item.

If your furniture could be re-used, please contact Glossopdale Furniture Project. This is a voluntary group who collect unwanted re-usable furniture donations free of charge, so they can be used by someone in need.  Visit their website if you think your unwanted furniture could be used by someone else.

More than 9 items for collection?  You can contact us with any queries before making a booking.
