MyActive Glossop to close temporarily for surveys

MyActive Glossop will be temporarily closed for a few days next month to facilitate essential survey work and to consider potential improvements to the centre's health and fitness offering.

The leisure centre will be closed from Monday 4 to Saturday 9 November. It will re-open on Sunday 10 November at the usual time of 8am.

All classes, activities and bookings during this period will be rescheduled. The sports hall will be available for use in the evenings during the closure and a programme of use for this space will be confirmed by MyActive Glossop shortly.

Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, Deputy Leader and Executive Councillor for Regeneration, Tourism and Leisure, said: "We are committed to maintaining the high standard of services that Glossop residents and visitors expect from our new Council-owned leisure and wellbeing company, MyActive.

"The safety of our customers, visitors and staff is always at the heart of everything we do so it's essential that we carry out this survey work. At the same time, we're taking the opportunity to review the potential for making investment in this facility.

"We understand this short closure will impact on our customers and I'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we work to ensure a safe and improved centre for everyone."

MyActive Glossop members can continue to use the facilities at our High Peak centres MyActive Buxton and MyActive New Mills during the closure.
