High Peak Tourism Partnership Forum

The forum enables key organisations involved in our visitor economy network to effectively collaborate and contribute to the strategic delivery of the wider tourism agenda across the High Peak

Set up in November 2024, the aim of the forum is to align priorities, programmes, and activities; identify and take forward opportunities to enhance and build on the excellent work that each organisation is doing; avoid duplication and potentially establish new collaborations or projects which cross geographical or organisational boundaries.

The key areas of focus for this Forum include:

  • Marketing and brand development
  • Visitor management - including transport, dispersal, pressure points etc
  • New capital or infrastructure developments
  • Business support and engagement
  • New funding streams, bids and opportunities for larger scale initiatives and projects

The Forum is Chaired by an Elected Member from High Peak Borough Council.

The current chair is: Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, Deputy Leader of Council (and Executive Member for Regeneration, Tourism & Leisure).

Core Membership:

  • High Peak Borough Council
  • Derbyshire County Council
  • Visit Peak District and Derbyshire
  • Peak District National Park Authority
  • Vision Buxton (Visit Buxton)
  • Visit New Mills
  • Buxton & Leek College
  • High Peak Access

The core group will aim to open/extend invitations to other stakeholders as and when required to cover all action areas moving forward.

Meetings are quarterly, either face to face or via Microsoft Teams. For further information contact Clare Brookes by emailing regeneration@highpeak.gov.uk
