Council working to fully re-open MyActive Glossop as soon as possible

Work to re-open the areas of MyActive Glossop that are currently closed following structural surveys is progressing.
High Peak Borough Council is hopeful that remedial measures identified following further assessments will be carried out in the next few weeks.
This positive news follows the completion of the repairs to the heating in the sports hall which is now working again.
Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, Deputy Leader and Executive Councillor for Regeneration, Tourism and Leisure, said: "Firstly, a big thank you to members, visitors and MyActive staff for their continued patience and understanding.
"I'm pleased to say that the issues with the heating in the sports hall have now been sorted out which is good news. The next steps will be to agree the timetable for remedial works to get the areas of the centre which are currently closed open again - and we should be able to give more information about that soon.
"As ever, the safety of everyone at the leisure centre is our primary concern but I want to reassure everyone that we understand the impact this is having and we are prioritising seeking solutions to get back to normal as quickly as possible."
In the meantime, the classes and activities that are taking place in alternative locations in the building and community venues including Bradbury House and Glossop Methodist Church, will continue.
