Council to make decision on MyActive New Mills in May

High Peak Borough Council will make a decision on potential investment in MyActive New Mills in the spring.
The Council has worked with architects and specialist contractors to refine proposals for improvements at the leisure centre following some initial engagement with specific user groups and local councillors last year.
Wider public consultation on the possible options took place between 29 November 2024 and 10 January this year.
Over 650 people completed an online survey and a public meeting on 3 December at New Mills Town Hall was extremely well attended.
Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, Deputy Leader and Executive Councillor for Regeneration, Tourism and Leisure, said: "Thanks to everyone who has shared their views on the future of MyActive New Mills both via the survey, in person at the meeting, or in conversations with councillors and staff.
"We've heard from hundreds of people which shows the level of interest in the centre and the provision of health and wellbeing facilities in the town. We'll now consider the feedback before making a final decision in May."
