Coronavirus waste collection information

For your safety and the safety of our workers please make sure you follow these guidelines with regards to waste collection

Residents

  • When taking out and bringing in your bins always make sure you clean the handles of the bins.
  • If you live in a household where there has been a confirmed OR suspected case of Coronavirus please make sure personal waste such as used tissues etc is double bagged and stored for a minimum of 3 days before putting it in your bin for collection. Any disposable cleaning cloths used to disinfect your house in this instance should also be included and be double bagged.
  • Only households with confirmed or suspected cases of the virus need to double bag their waste, a single bag is fine for everyone else.
  • Other household waste such as recyclable items and food waste should be disposed of as normal.
  • Empty indoor bins frequently rather than leaving it until the night before collection day to put waste in outside bins.

All waste collections will carry on as normal until such a time when staffing levels don't allow. Please be assured we are monitoring this very carefully and will do our best to make sure waste is collected as scheduled.

If you need to find out when your normal collection day is, report a missed bin or use our handy what goes in your bin guide visit our Bins and Recycling section - there's lots of useful information and many of your requests can be completed online.

Trade waste information

If you have a trade waste contract with us we are here to help you through this period.

We know the Coronavirus restrictions may impact on your business and as a result you may be generating less waste or be closed. If this is the case and you would like to amend or suspend your contract with us please get in touch.

Our seasonal contracts, which allow you to restart the service at a time to suit you, may be the answer.

Please return your annual contract and Duty of Care documents as usual.

You will be charged as normal unless you tell us your business is closed. Please contact us if your business is closed, or producing less waste than usual and you want to amend or suspend your collections.
