Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) has secured investment from DEFRA to ensure that all English Counties have Rural Housing Enabler service in place until March 2025. Both Rural action Derbyshire and Support Staffordshire were successful in securing funding.

The focus of the project is on enablement with the following outcomes:

  • Progress towards completion for existing schemes in the 'baseline' pipeline
  • An increase in the size of the delivery 'pipeline' of rural housing schemes
  • Improved information on the national picture for delivering rural housing
  • Better insight into 'blockers' to rural housing developments and how these might be addressed
  • Evidence as to the value added provided by Rural Housing Enablers
