Help shape future development in Whaley Bridge

Residents in Whaley Bridge will be able to have their say on the future development of the town when a referendum on a planning document takes place in December.
High Peak Borough Council together with the Peak District National Park Authority have decided to send the Whaley Bridge Neighbourhood Plan, prepared by Whaley Bridge Town Council to referendum on 7 December.
The local community will be asked:
- Whether they want High Peak Borough Council and the Peak District National Park Authority to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Whaley Bridge to help them decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area
If a majority vote 'yes', the Plan will be adopted.
Councillor Godfrey Claff, Executive Councillor for Planning, said: "We know people care about where they live and how their communities and neighbourhoods could develop in the future.
"This referendum in Whaley Bridge is a chance for local residents to have their say and to help shape the future of their town. I would encourage people to take a look at the proposed Plan and the associated documents and to take this opportunity to influence the services and amenities that are provided in the future by taking part in the referendum in a few weeks' time."
The documents are available on the Council's website or you can view paper copies at Whaley Bridge Town Council, Mechanics Institute, Market Street, Whaley Bridge during normal opening hours.
